KEWL easter egg in Windows 7!  If you’re a former XP power user who now find themselves hunting around for settings in W7, this little nugget is for you!  It will flatten your system’s control panel, as if you took a pantry and laid it out into a single-easy-to-use-lunch-basket!  Yum!  Everything is categorized and action oriented.

All you do is create a new folder and then rename it with the following:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

A google search revealed that Vista users may have some problems with this- use at your own risk.  I also found other GUID folder names that do similar functions.  For more information, check out the CNET article from Ina Fried for yourself at this  link and this one too.

Thanks Renee for pointing me to CNET this morning!  This GodMode control is now pinned to my taskbar!

Me too! If you find any, pass them on. I’ll do the same for you.

This is pretty sweet. I also noticed that you can drag and drop the icons from god mode onto your desktop/startmenu/taskbar to have a shortcut to your favorites (like manage network connections, or bitlocker)
